@Twitter API v1.1 is now in effect

Just a quick note that Twitter.com has turned off v1.0 of the API on June 11 2013. The v1.0 version of the API allowed, among other things, client side access to the Twitter stream. Tools like jQuery and Javascript could call Twitter.com to get live feeds directly between a browser and the twitter website. This is no longer supported, and server-side, authenticated solutions must be built to support v1.1 of the API.

Note that embedded widgets work just as well for most applications and can be customized to some extent. Although Twitter's widgets don't have real time scrolling support out of the box like many of the jQuery solutions had, in many cases the widgets that Twitter provides will have equivalent functionality. The feed at the bottom of this page implements the Twitter widget feed for a list off the @newpathtech Twitter stream.
